Review: Webster Bank's Business Credit Cards

Based out of Waterbury, Connecticut, Webster Bank has branches in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York. The bank was founded in 1935 and has over $27 billion dollars in assets. In addition, they offer four credit cards designed specifically for small businesses.

Each business credit card offers its own unique advantages and drawbacks. Let’s take a look at each Webster Bank business credit card so you can determine if one of them is right for your company.

Webster Bank Credit Cards’ Features

Every card is equipped with chip technology, making international usage easy. The cards also offer benefits specifically for businesses, including expense management tools, free employee cards, and mobile payment options.

Webster Bank’s business credit cards are offered through Elan Financial Services, which has partnered with over 1,400 financial institutions to deliver competitive services.

If you choose a rewards card, you can redeem the points through the Elan Rewards Program. You can also redeem points as cash back if you have a savings or checking account with Webster Bank. There’s no cap on the number of points you can earn, and you’ll have five years to redeem them.

Which Webster Bank Business Credit Card Should You Choose?

Webster Visa Business Platinum Card

The Webster Visa Business Platinum Card is a non-rewards card that features low interest rates. Unfortunately, Webster Bank doesn’t publish their APR rates online, so you’ll need to contact them to learn more.

If you sign up, however, you’ll enjoy a zero percent introductory APR, allowing you to pay down other credit card balances.

Webster Visa Business Cash Card

If you prefer credit cards with rewards programs, the Webster Visa Business Cash Card is a good choice. You’ll earn three percent cashback on eligible purchases for office supplies, in addition to phone and TV services.

Further, you’ll receive one percent cashback for all other eligible purchases and will get a $25 cash back reward after your first purchase.

Webster Visa Business Real Rewards Card

The Webster Visa Business Real Rewards Card is another attractive rewards credit card. With this card, you’ll gain 1.5 points for every dollar spent on eligible purchases. The points are equal to 1.5 percent cashback.

In addition, you’ll be awarded 2,500 bonus points after you make your first purchase. However, it’ll take six to eight weeks for the points to be applied.

Webster Visa Business Rewards PLUS Card

The Webster Visa Business Rewards PLUS Card likewise offers 1.5 points for every dollar in eligible purchases. However, you’ll also gain 3 points for cell phone services, hotel stays, and airfare, making this card a great choice for frequent travelers.

Further, you’ll get 20,000 bonus points if you make $2,000 in eligible purchases within three months of opening your account.

How to Apply for Webster Bank Business Credit Cards

Webster Bank offers a few ways for you to apply for a business credit card. You can apply online by simply visiting their small business credit card portal. Simply click on the link to the card you would like to apply to and then find the “Apply Now” button.

Rather not apply online? You can also call 877-864-2037 for live help or can visit one of their branch locations.

Conclusion: The Right Card Depends on Your Situation

All four of the Webster Bank small business credit cards offer compelling benefits and features. So, which card is right for you? That depends on how you’ll use the credit card, and which features you’ll benefit from the most.

If you want to pay down other credit cards, for example, consider the Webster Visa Business Platinum Card and take advantage of its zero percent introductory APR. On the other hand, if you’re a frequent traveler, the Webster Visa Business Rewards PLUS Card offers a great cash back program.
